Hi, I'm Jurassic Jones!

Hello!

My name is Jessie Jones, a.k.a Jurassic Jones, and I am a sixth-grade science teacher in South Carolina. Science is my passion and I love sharing it with my students!

I thrive on an engaging and loud classroom built on organized chaos. I believe that science should be organic, messy, and fun! Most days, you can find my class completing a lab, life-sized board game, escape room, or doodle notes. I eat, breathe, and live for MIDDLE SCHOOL! 

I received my degree in Science Education from the University of Georgia with an emphasis in Earth Sciences- I'm a rock, space, and dinosaur nerd! 

I'm so glad you're here and look forward to sharing my sometimes chaotic science class with you!

Constellation Research Project I love completing this project each year! Find this project on my TPT page. Here is some info, tips, and tricks for this project! Create a List of Constellations Depending on the age of your students, some constellations and their mythology may not be appropriate for students. I typically make a list and we have a " constellations lottery " for sign-ups! Creating the Working Circuit 1. Materials Needed copper tape, LED light sticker, paper, coffee filter, tape/glue, marker 2. Making the constellation drawing -Color a coffee filter. Must-Have Classroom Items & Decorations

Peek Inside My Classroom I love decorating my classroom. This room has been a process and changes throughout the year, but here is a list of some of my favorites and must-have items for the classroom! BRICK WALLPAPER - Red Brick Color: this was super easy to put up and completely changed the feel of the room! TRICERATOPS HEAD - This is just one of the MANY dinosaurs I have on display in my classroom, but it is definitely my favorite! It was very easy to hang up, there is one screw in the wall and it has stayed up for over a year now. LETTERBOARD - I couldn't find the exact one, but this links to one that is the same size and has the same letters! (yes I changed this the second I could get back into my classroom so I wouldn't forget😂) DRY ERASE CONTACT PAPER :  I LOVE THIS STUFF!  I covered my countertops and cabinets with dry-erase contact paper.
